Who Am I?

I am an avid runner and have been running since I was 15 years old. I began running low to medium distances while on my high school track team, running the 800 meter and 1600 meter races (I was a sub 5 miler and a 2 minute 800 runner). In addition to the track team, I also joined the cross country team. After high school I still wanted to run and decided to start doing road races. I have probably ran a couple hundred 5k races (16.29 PR)along with many 10k's as well. In 2009 I decided to step up my game and try to tackle my first marathon. I will be honest; the only reason I did this was because my father ran a few and I wanted to show him that I could do what he did. I trained poorly for my first one and regret it. If you are going to run a race, train like you want to win. I still continue to run marathons and other distances as well, and every race is a chance for me to better myself.
I started this blog to hopefully communicate with other runners and to shed any knowledge I may have about the sport that can help other runners. I believe running is the best sport and can be a great stress reliever. I encourage all runners to spread the word of our sport and show people why running is so good and why the community of runners has such great people. Celebrating my 200th with Medi-Dyne

On Monday February 23rd I posted my 200th blog post. What can I say except thank you to everyone who has ever read my blog and an even bigger thank you to the people that comment on it. I have got to know so many wonderful people, and in turn I am able to follow so many of your blogs as well. I have alsobeen able to connect with many races and different brands. So with this blog I am happy to announce that I am now a brand ambassador for Medi-Dyne.

In the past you probably have heard me mention this brand. During my training with the Columbus Marathon in the fall, they came up huge for me. With a week until the race I was chaffing severely and my normal Vaseline just wasn’t doing the job. I happened to stumble onto a product review on a fellow runner’s page. Sarah had nothing but great things to say about the 2Tom’s Sportshield. I reached out to Medi-Dyne hoping they would be at the Columbus expo. They informed me they would not be at the expo, but still wanted to help me. After a few questions they were shipping me some sample wipes to use during the race. For a company to go above and beyond like that speaks volumes about their character. I have seen so many companies who only want to shove product down your throat and make you purchase something. Medi-Dyne only asked that I give an honest review of the product on my blog. Since that day I have always stood by this company and supported their products. When I saw that they were finally going to be doing an ambassador program I jumped at the chance to help spread the word of this great company. If you know me you should know that I am very picky when it comes to branding companies and races. Unlike a lot of people I choose my races based on where the money is going rather than the swag or the bling. When it comes to branding a race or a company I will only stand next to a company that truly cares about the sport of running and the well-being of an athlete. Medi-Dyne is a company that not only wants to keep you injury free, but they are a company that will take the time and actually talk to you and try to serve you the best way they can.

What does this mean for you: You can use my Promo Code BASB20 and get yourself a 20% percent discount on your orders. I will also be reviewing their products from time to time and will do a write up so you can actually have honest feedback before you make your purchase on new products.

Please check out the   Medi-Dyne website and see some of their great products. They have all different types of products you can use to stay injury free.
