Who Am I?

I am an avid runner and have been running since I was 15 years old. I began running low to medium distances while on my high school track team, running the 800 meter and 1600 meter races (I was a sub 5 miler and a 2 minute 800 runner). In addition to the track team, I also joined the cross country team. After high school I still wanted to run and decided to start doing road races. I have probably ran a couple hundred 5k races (16.29 PR)along with many 10k's as well. In 2009 I decided to step up my game and try to tackle my first marathon. I will be honest; the only reason I did this was because my father ran a few and I wanted to show him that I could do what he did. I trained poorly for my first one and regret it. If you are going to run a race, train like you want to win. I still continue to run marathons and other distances as well, and every race is a chance for me to better myself.
I started this blog to hopefully communicate with other runners and to shed any knowledge I may have about the sport that can help other runners. I believe running is the best sport and can be a great stress reliever. I encourage all runners to spread the word of our sport and show people why running is so good and why the community of runners has such great people. Medi-Dyne To The Rescue

I am sure you all of heard the story of Lois Lane being a damsel in distress and Superman comes to her rescue. Well call me Lois Lane for this story and call Medi-Dyne Superman.

Let me take you back a few weeks when I first started to notice that the Vaseline I normally use to prevent chaffing wasn't holding up as well it should. After my long runs I found my inner thighs burning.  With a marathon on the horizon I started to go into panic mode.  How would I manage to get through 26.2 miles?  I am not one for grabbing the Vaseline sticks on the course. I want to keep moving and not have to worry about stopping to grab something extra.  My father suggested taking extra Vaseline and sticking it on my sock and use it if needed.  I wasn't to thrilled of that idea either. Then I happened to be reading Sarah's blog Run Ginger Run. She was having the same type of problem and was using sport shield from 2Toms. A product from Medi-Dyne. Sarah spoke very highly of the product and was not having any chaffing problems since she started using it.  Normally I would of just jumped online and purchased the product, only problem was it was Tuesday and I have the marathon on Sunday. I figured there is no way the product will get here in time. I contacted Medi-Dyne and asked if anyone would be at the Columbus Marathon expo. I figured as much as I don't want to buy a product and use it on the fly it might be worth the chance. They however informed they would not be there. What happened next still has me amazed. The person who I had spoken to Craig responded with an email asking some questions about my marathon. After answering he informed me that he would be rush delivering me some samples. He wanted me to get the samples a few days before the marathon so I could give the product a test run before the marathon.  Well today I came home and sure enough there was 6 samples from Medi-Dyne.
A short test run and things are good, but I will give you all a full recap of how it all works after the marathon.  I am very thankful that Medi-Dyne was so helpful and went out of their way to help me.

I will still be 100 percent honest when I give my review of this product, but I have to tell you I am already on board with this company and their products.  How often do you find a company that actually wants to help an athlete out? It is few and far between you find a company that actually cares about you.  These people not only rushed me the product, but they did not just say here is what you should use and this is the cost. Most company's only care about the money and how much they can make off of you. Medi-Dyne actually cared about me.  I can now look forward to the marathon this week and knowing Medi-Dyne had a huge part in that.
